Anthony (Tony) Christopher Clark…he and his wife, Frances, and children, Kiara (9/20/94), Jazzin (9/15/97) and Aeneas (3/7/02), make their home in Glendale, AZ…Tony was a 1990 graduate of Christian High School in El Cajon, CA, where he earned All-American and Academic All-American honors in baseball and basketball…he amassed a San Diegoarea high school basketball record with 2,549 career points while averaging 43.7 points per game his senior year en route to a state scoring title…he went on to play basketball at the University of Arizona and San Diego State University, where he was the Aztecs’ top scorer with 11.5 points per game in 1991-92…Tony had his #33 retired by Trenton (AA) of the Eastern League on May 19, 1997…prior to the 2000 season while still playing for the Tigers, he switched from uniform #17 to #44 in honor of Hank Aaron…Tony and his wife established the MVP Foundation which helps children achieve their goals through education and athletics…he created the Tony Clark Equipment Grant to supply Detroit public schools with baseball and softball equipment, donating $300 for every home run he hit and $100 for every RBI he collected with a minimum guaranteed donation of $20,000…he also donated funds to the Detroit Tigers Tony Clark Negro League Scholarship presented to a Detroit high school senior who excels in education, athletics and community service.
